About

So many products, so little time.  If it weren’t for my husband our house would be filled to the rafters with magazines (home and glamor), body lotions, sunless tanners, blushes, MASCARA’s, sunscreens, serums, foundations, eye shadows, LIP GLOSSES, hair balms, gels, mousse’s, sprays, shampoos, conditioners, leave in’s, cream, curling irons, brushes, BOBBY PINS, binders, blow dryers and a GAZILLION sample pots from Sephora.  True Story.

The irony is…my product search is about finding ONE product that does everything!  I want it to fight age, add moisture, but not to much, make me look glowy (from the inside), protect me from the sun, give my cheeks the perfect flush, accent my eyes, make my hair smooth and longer, fill in fine lines and wrinkles, protect me from the environment and make my lips look naturally full.  WITHOUT wearing too much make up.

I believe in more is less.  The MORE I care for my face now, the LESS I will have to cover it with correction later.

xoxo, M

  1. I’m a sucker for a good lotion but not a big fan of makeup! I’m right there with you about that. Sometimes I wonder if that will change when I pass 50. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

  2. Girl, I love your writing style – it’s so entertaining and punchy! 🙂

I wanted to send you a quick email to tell you this, but I couldn’t find a contact. Anyway, I wanted to tell you, I think you have a typo in your headline. It reads, “In My Professioal Product Whore Opinion” — professional is missing an “n.”

  3. Thanks so much for the follow! I checked out your blog and I absolutely adore it. I’m definitely guilty of being “product obsessed” so it is great to find a blog that I can relate to!

  4. I have been guilty of spending afternoons in Sephora…..its my hiding place whe I need to get away !
One non-product tip for you – the sun. My grandma had flawless skin her entire life, & I asked her once if it was because she religiously used moisturizer and she said “yes, but growing up on a farm we learned to protect our faces from the sun”. She had several of those Audrey Hepburn big rimmed hats and always had one on when outside. Girls dont realize all that time in the sun turns your skin into leather.
Whatever you’re doing is working – keep it up!!!!

    • I am sitting on the patio at our hotel, overlooking the Pacific Ocean watching whales play whilst wearing my JCrew large rimmed hat and SPF 50. CAN I GET AN AMEN!! Your grams is a GENIUS. Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I also am a MAJOR product junkie and can’t wait to exchange tips and tries! I also love the way you write! Have you tried the BB creams? Tried Dr Jart and smashbox…not sure yet. Anyway, nice to connect!

  6. Thank you for the like and for following my blog “Sweet Spell Bakeshop”. I look forward to checking out your posts too! =)

  7. Oh-I like your site. My grandmother moisturized her face with Vaseline. Can you believe it? My mother used this stuff called Dippity Do when she roller her hair. There are some funny retro commercials for it on YouTube. I smashed a whole pack of cigarettes into a jar of it once while she was taking a nap. I was four years old. Nice to see you’re following rubberchickendinner.

  8. Hello! Thanks for following my blog and leading me here! I’m a bit of a product whore too! Have you tried this one? http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P241301 Two Faced primed and Poreless. I just got it and am OBSESSED with it! Not only is it great as a makeup primer for those nights I’m going out and really want to lay it on, but its also a smoother/evener (I know that’s not really a word but I can’t describe it anyway!) that replaces the need for cover up and foundation. Love it!

    • I have not, but I did use the Two Faced Shadow Insurance this morning…same concept. I like it a lot so far–that said its only been 4 hours:) I am kinda into the Two Faced line right now. I also day tested the BB cream and I really really liked it.
      THANKS for stopping by!

    • Speaking of Blogroll…do you know I change it? I’m new to wordpress, and I remember setting it up and I would love to add you, HOWEVER, I can’t find the right box!

      • I will only tell you if you add me to your blog roll 😉

        OKay, I’ll tell ya anyways-

Go to dashboard, then appearance, then widgets, then look for the ,list of widgets you have included on your page — links should be amongst them and if you click on it you can add new links you want for your page. Hope this helped!.

      • i’m new too! i think you go into your dashboard, go to widgets, then to your links thing (your blogroll)? i think you can add more links there. hopefully that’s right!

  9. Love your blog- I’m addicted to your whore-ism! So glad you found me so I got to find you, thank you for the follow, greatly appreciated. Looking forward to more of your posts x

  10. I love this. I think every woman wants to do the most with her money and time 🙂 And have it make her look her best. I love finding the best stuff. So many things are my favorite!! But most of all I actually like finding about the ingredients in the products and why they do what they do 🙂 birds of a feather!

  11. Oh, goodness! Someone who understands 🙂 I am an absolute product junkie, and I don’t think I’m all that ashamed. Until I remember that my super-sweet husband has 1/2 of a drawer in our bathroom. I have 2 1/2, plus most of 2 cabinets. Um…okay, now I’m ashamed. But really well made up! Looking forward to exploring your blog some more. Thanks for the follow!

  12. You see the curly hair in this photo? It takes products to keep it from being an afro… products everywhere. Haven’t found the exact combo yet, but I’m getting close. I don’t wear makeup, stay out of the sun but organic lotion is my thing.
I guess we all have our product issues!
Thanks for visiting my blog. We can compare our product stuff.

  13. Thanks for following my blog. I’m not a big makeup person, but I could certainly use a good moisturizer and nourishing lotion. Blessings….

  17. let me know if you find it!! have you tried the SKII serum thing? it was amazing when I used it, literally didn’t need to use anything else ever, but as soon as I didn’t use it for a couple weeks my face just died…so I was too worried to ever use it again.

  18. thank you because you liked some of my posts! it means a lot to me and I am so proud and pleased that you follow me – your blog is super cool and I look forward to reading more 🙂 Hugs Camilla

  19. Thanks for following russell5087 and russellpop. I will try my best to keep providing interesting content. It is interesting to me that both you and studio brow are involved in beauty and fashion. From the perspective of someone knowledgeable about cosmetics (I’m referring to you, not me!), what do you suppose contributed to my attraction to stock photo girl in the first place. She is clearly doing something right!

  20. Hi Malia,

What a fun site you have! There’s so many great products out there, but you just never know when you might be getting a lemon. Love that you give insight in such a genuine way. Thanks for the follow.

I’m so excited that you have the dresser and like it, I was wondering about the quality. What a great day, finding a long lost friend and hearing that the Restoration Hardware knock off is awesome in person.
