Updates!

My Professional Product Whore Opinion:  Post one week of wear—They chipped, a lot-at the cuticle ironically. Grr….Annoyed.

So after my review about the post ombre Aveda Products my FB BFF commented about Kerastase Fibre Architecte.  While I was in Denver last weekend I had discovered that I hadn’t brought a leave in product so I picked it up to test it out.

It’s a little different than some of the other Kerastase products in the sense that it’s not an all over product.  I was instructed to only apply to my lengths and ends and only on dry hair right before curling or straightening.

My professional Product Whore Opinion: I did as instructed and it was like the heat from my curling iron mixed with the product glued my split ends together.  So while it doesn’t get rid of my split ends, it does mask them VERY well.  This product has definitely made the most difference in the appearance of my hair.

Overall, I would say I like the Caviar mask the most, its more of a repair product. However, I like that this product is an everyday solution to my raggedy ends.  This said, I LOVE my ombre…LOVE IT.  Totes worth the dry ends!

In other news, my SHH switched to my Peaches AHA/BHA Cleanser.

Product Description:With alpha and beta hydroxy acids as well as glycolic, lactic and salicylic acids, this cleanser provides a deep cleaning by removing dead skin cells and accelerating the skin renewal process. Jojoba beads prevent occlusion of the pores. Pure antioxidants completely penetrate the skin’s layers to feed it and to reverse the aging process.

This product is used as your primary cleanser and can be used both morning and night.

For all skin types

In his SHH of a Professional Product Whore Opinion:

He uses this with his Mia everyday and has been noticing that his skin is more balanced.  No breakouts in the two weeks since the switch and he likes the “lemony scent.”  He’s also mentioned that he likes the little crunchy bits too (it has a little bit of exfoliating).

Remember this??

Remember this post?  I need this like I need air!

WOO HOO, its finally here!

IT’S FINALLY HERE!

It is so much thicker than I thought it would be!

I am surprised that I don’t love it as much as I thought….ESPECIALLY considering the lengths I went to to pre-order.  I’m going to give it a few more days to see how I feel about it.  It doesn’t fit in my purse, but I love everything else about it.  It came with two fillable Laura compacts (one for eye and a bigger one for cheeks and glosses).

In other news:

SHH and I are headed way down south to San Diego for a visit to my favorite blog supporter!  We are even bringing Willie Nelson:)  I love beaches, room service, road trips and friends so this is bound to be epic…epic trip needs epic toes.

I really wish you could see these in person.  I tried taking this pic from every direction, but the high gloss finish on my big toes makes it nearly impossible to see how awesome the glitter /sparkle is.  Thank you Sephora by OPI for these fab colors. (Stay tuned for the names)

Facial Update:

I am amazed at how well I cleared up.   AMAZED-say what you will about vag cream and laxatives smeared on my face, the results are legit.  Now to deal with sun damage and scarring.  Does anyone have any insight on this?

Best Booty in Hollywood??

As previously mentioned, it’s my Birthday Month.  (if I could, I would be playing 50 Cent In Da Club for your listening pleasure as you read this)

I love birthday month for LOADS of reasons.  SHH and I had our very first intoxicating kiss on my birthday 3 years ago.  Every year since then, SHH plan’s some Fab Beach Getaway. First it was some islands south of Costa Rica, then it was Santa Barbara, this year it is CABO!

Bikini’s have arrived, super fab beach floppy hat purchased (now I have to figure out how to pack it-PLS LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS) and everything else has been packed for 3 days…we don’t leave till next Wednesday ;)

Since we are just a few days away from 5 days of bikinis, I am in full on MISSION BEACH BODY mode.  Check out this video I found on one of my fav blogs http://www.ezliving.com:

I did this workout after my cardio last night and it kicked my booty (pun totally intended) :)  Seriously, LEGIT.  There is nothing better than post workout soreness.

The most important beach essential?  SUNSCREEN.  SUNSCREEN.  SUNSCREEN.  I spend WAY too much money on skin care to skimp on SUNSCREEN.  Not to mention I married a quasi Ginger (nothing but love for all the Gingers in the house!)

Right now I am using Peter Thomas Roth Max Sheer All Day Defense with SPF 30.  (my SHH will clearly need something stronger than an SPF 30–stay tuned)

In My Professional Product Whore Opinion?

I love it.  I had been struggling with sample after sample of sunscreens.  I had tried Tinted Moisturizers with SPF, Shiseido SPF, BB Cream with SPF….its exhausting and hard on my face.  As you all know, I hate all the layering of makeup and my new Muard Renewal Complex makes my skin so pretty and radiant that I don’t need to wear any coverage.  I LOVE that this DOESN’T feel like sunscreen…NOT EVEN A LITTLE.  It is easily my favorite thing about this product.  AND better yet, it is also rich in antioxidants and SHEER and PERFECTLY moisturizing for my skin.

Shellac Experiment Day 9:

Grow out is getting more obvious–but its likely that the untrained eye wouldn’t notice.  No chips, or peeling and still WICKED shiny!

Friday Finds and Random Thoughts

1.  Creative Friends, if you are not on Pinterest you’re not living.  Seriously, go NOW: www.pinterest.com  If you need an invite I am happy to help :)

2.  My good friend Tiffany made a comment recently about Mary Kay taking too long to order (like 3 days).  Immediate gratification at its finest:) And I absolutely agree, but THEY STILL MAKE THE BEST OIL FREE MAKEUP REMOVER!

3. I love this lil gem:

4.  I’m not ready to give an official review of this stuff, but so far I LOVE it.  Stand by for more details!

5.  I will not bore you all with my thoughts on this.  But I will say, that quitting sugar has changed my life significantly.  If you have ever considered it check out this article:

6.  The hardest thing about being a PRODUCT WHORE is that trying different products is obviously hard on my face.  I am constantly torn between “it works so great” and “oh. I wonder if this would be better!”

7.  I am officially 7 days burn free :)  No Neosporin in a whole week:)

8.  SHH and I recently took up tennis.  I won’t get started on the snobbery we have experienced at the Tennis Club, but I will say I LOVE TENNIS.  I am ALWAYS amazed at the age range of players.  Age 2 to 92.  We are both terrible, but in the 3 weeks we have been playing we are SO SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER than when we started, I love this the most.

9. Food Porn–check out this blog (Two Tarts) its awesome:

10.  Enjoy the SuperBowl :)

Let’s talk about sex baby…

As a new blogger and a marketing professional I have been enthralled by the statistics that WordPress provides.  You as the readers should be ashamed ;)

It turns out all my highest read reviews have some kind of unintentional sexual connotation in the title.   Essentially, sex sells-even in a blog about beauty products….On average, the days my blog has a “sexy title” I get OVER DOUBLE the readers.  REALLY?  OVER DOUBLE…some days even TRIPLE!  PERVERTS ;)

Based on this info, YOU WIN.  Let’s talk about sex.

This weekend while walking down State St. a homeless man YELLED AT ME.  It’s bad enough that he actually yelled at me, worse yet, he called me an “EFFIN INTERNATIONAL PERVERT!”  My obvious first reaction to this was shock, then I could NOT STOP LAUGHING.  Seriously, body shaking laughter. People were staring.  I decided to text this harrowing story to my crew…  My bestie in MPLS writes back and says: “International bc your Asian.”  hmmmm…and pervert because I’m????  WHY IS THIS SO OBVIOUS TO MY BESTIE???  How’s that for a sexy story!?

Now on to sexy product talk!

For the last few weeks, I have been testing NUMEROUS tinted moisturizers. My research all pointed to Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 ILLUMINATING

What it is:
A moisturizer with a hint of shimmering color.

What it does:
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Illuminating is a lightweight, buildable sheer foundation formula that delivers a youthful, radiant finish.

What else you need to know:
Protecting skin from the damaging rays of the sun with SPF 20 protection, this skin-friendly formula contains a unique Dewy Complex that is proven to keep the skin moisturized and better equipped to combat external aggressors and irritants. Layer with other foundations for a custom blend and radiant finish. It’s dermatologist-tested.”

My Professional Product Whore Opinion:

On paper this product is the bomb.com.  It has SPF 20, sheer coverage AND Illuminator!  Everything I could hope for:)  I even tested the Oil Free Version.

For two weeks I applied this over my daily Murad Radiance C Serum.  Unfortuantely, I found this product to be WAY too THICK and GREASY.  Not nearly as light as I had hoped. As you know, I hate feeling like I am wearing a product.  I HATE IT.  This tinted moisturizer never really soaks in.  ALL DAY. It actually feels like grease on my skin.  NOT AT ALL SEXY.

I was super duper disappointed.  All the reviews on Sephora were so positive.  But my actual experience was far from it.

Secret Brightener aka Secret Weapon

Laura Mercier Secret Brightner

Image from: HERE

“Formulated for all skin types, Secret Brightener was created to brighten dark circles, reduce shadows and minimize discolorations. It instantly opens the eye area and highlights the face while smoothing the skin by reflecting light away from darkness and boosting radiance.”-Sephora

My Professional Product Whore Opinion:

YES YES YES.

I love this because on the days that I don’t want to wear a ton, I can get away with spf moisturizer, this Secret Brightener and my Dior Glow lip Glow and nothing else…maybe some mascara (if your lucky.)

Its got that glow from within look.  I use it under my brow, along the bridge of my nose, on the inside crease of my eyes and tops of my cheek bones.  Pretty standard highlighting places. I love that its wicked easy to apply and it looks so so so natural.

For events, I would wear this in all the same places, Dior Lip Glow and add my Orgasm Duo and/or Super Orgasm for a little more drama. These are the nights people tell me I look glowy or radiant:) (ALSO, notice my eyebrow shape here)

This is overall my top 3 beauty products.  LOVE LOVE LOVE it. LOOOOVE IT.
